Conterra Rigging Bag

Rescue is made easier with the Conterra Rigging Bag. This modular rescue bag organizes technical rope gear into a convenient deployment package. The bag can be carried by the grab handles or worn as a backpack. The saddlebag pocket portion can be detached and used separately from the rope. The saddlebag pockets are 8" x 4" x 20" with #10 zippers, and a clear vinyl window for inventory lists, etc. The rope bag holds up to 300 feet of 12.5mm rescue rope and opens at both ends to provide quick access to either end of the rope for advanced techniques. The bag is made entirely out of Dupont Cordura, with high visibility reflective tape. Many organizations use three rigging bags to create "system packages" (Belay, Mainline, and Patient package).

Overall dimensions: 8"x 16" x 30"

Rope and hardware not included.

    Just ok

The good: It seems well constructed. The price can't be beat for this type of bag. It holds more rope than most other rigging pack type bags.

The bad: The backpack straps are HORRIBLE when the pack is loaded. This can be fixed by retrofitting pads to the straps. A sternum belt would also be greatly beneficial. The large side pockets have no dividers or tie downs etc, so your gear just kinda flops around. I remedied that by a homemade fix utilizing grommets and Paracord.

The ok: it does hold 300ft of rope, but just barely and it takes an engineering degree to make it fit. Having openings at both ends is cool, but the plastic cinchers on the drawcords tend to work loose and your rope falls out of the bottom. This can be fixed by tying a simple overhand into the bottom cord to keep it cinched.

Overall I do believe the bag is a good value for the money and it's drawbacks can be fixed if you are willing to put in a little extra effort. Not the best but not the worst.
